Data deletion
Last updated: August 23, 2026
You can delete your EarWorm account and everything attached to it at any time. No support ticket, no waiting period, no retention offer.
Request deletion
Email privacy@earworm.network from the address on your account. We action deletion requests within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.
What gets deleted
Your profile, username, display name, bio and avatar. Your saved songs library. Your share history and referral records. Your creator page and its analytics events, if you have one. Your authentication record, including email and password hash.
Deletion cascades through the database on the foreign keys, so these go together — there is no partial state where your profile is gone but your library survives.
What does not get deleted, and why
Songs in the shared catalog. A song row records a recording — its title, artist, artwork — not you. Other people have saved and shared the same tracks, and removing the catalog entry would break their libraries. Nothing in a song row identifies who identified it first.
Aggregate counts. Once your save is removed, the totals it contributed to recompute without it. We do not keep a shadow copy of your activity to preserve a number.
Payment records. If you have ever paid, Stripe retains transaction records independently of us, because tax and anti-fraud law requires it. Those live with Stripe under their retention policy, not in our database. We delete our own subscription rows.
Deleting without deleting your account
You do not have to delete everything to remove something. Unsaving a song removes that row immediately. Editing your profile overwrites the previous values rather than versioning them.
Exporting first
If you want a copy of your data before deleting, ask for an export in the same email and we will send it before actioning the deletion. Deletion is irreversible once done.
